The Department of Ophthalmology at the Specialized Medical Center Hospital [SMCH] provides high quality eye care and delivers excellence in the prevention and cure of eye disorders.

In view of the growing demand of high quality eye care, ophthalmic services have expanded rapidly over the past two years. The SMCH has established closed collaboration with The Eye Center. There are 7 consultants Ophthalmologists, 2 Specialists Ophthalmologists , 2 Optometrists, Ophthalmic nurses and technicians who work in the department of Ophthalmology.

There are two complete examination lanes. The ancillary services consist of:

• Computerized Perimetry
• Ultrasonography
• Computerized Corneal Topography
• VisuMax

Sub Specialty Services

Sub specialty services in ophthalmology are provided in the department of Ophthalmology: contact lens fitting, refraction, comprehensive ophthalmology, minor surgical procedures, and orthoptics.
